For each issue, the figure is how many shareholder proposals the fund backed out of those it voted on; exec pay is how often it backed management’s executive-pay resolutions. Every figure comes from the fund’s own annual SEC filing of its proxy votes, Form N-PX, linked from the fund’s page.

Vanguard Investor Choice, in the filings
Under Vanguard Investor Choice, investors in some Vanguard index funds can pick a voting policy for their share of a fund’s votes. In the fund’s own filing that shows up as extra rows: beside the fund’s vote on a ballot item, smaller blocks of shares voted the way those investors’ policies said. 20 of the 31 Vanguard index funds on this site list such blocks in their 2026 filings.
In Vanguard 500 Index Fund’s filing they are 21,389 of its 28,715 vote rows, yet only 0.55% of the shares it voted, and on at least 1,738 ballot items some of those shares were cast a different way from the fund. At NVIDIA Corporation’s meeting on 24 June 2026, on “Approval of a non-binding stockholder proposal requesting the replacement of supermajority voting provisions in our charter and bylaws with a simple majority voting standard.”, the fund voted FOR with 622,526,355 shares; the separately voted blocks were AGAINST 2,690,511, FOR 2,206,470, FOR 1,125,237, 75,434 split ABSTAIN 260 / FOR 64,844 / AGAINST 10,330.
